Commissioned by George Washington in 1795, the Sequin Island Lighthouse was established the next year. The current granite lighthouse was built in 1857 and automated in 1985. Tours are conducted by a not-for-profit organization based in Bath. The Fresnel lens is still installed in the lighthouse. (More photos at http://www.peregrinesea.com) Accommodations for overnight and/or long-term stays available.
