Joe Follansbee, Executive EditorHello! My name is Joe Follansbee, and I'm a writer and webmaster in Seattle, Wash., USA. I'm the editor of The Fyddeye Guide to America's Maritime History, which is available as a print book or an ebook on Kindle, Nook, and other e-readers. One of my books is Shipbuilders, Sea Captains, and Fisherman: The Story of the Schooner Wawona.

I founded Fyddeye in 2009 because I didn't see a place on the web where I could find news about one of my favorite subjects: maritime history. I also wanted to create a place for maritime heritage advocates to post information about their efforts to save ships, lighthouses, and historical artifacts related to the life on the water. If you're a supporter of a non-profit maritime heritage organization, you can post your news releases or other information here at no cost. It's best to register for full access to the site. Or just send the info to me at contact@fyddeye.com or via this form.

Some of our authors include Wendy Joseph, Linda Collison, Jared Wasser, Steve Wells, and myself. I hope you'll join the Fyddeye community and contribute your thoughts about saving our unique maritime heritage. We need you!

BTW, Fyddeye is derived from a word referring to a sail-making tool and the human eye, as in watching our maritime history unfold.

I hope to hear from you soon!
