Exploring a Sunken Past - Maritime Heritage in Hawaii (via YouTube) Watch a 13-minute documentary about maritime history and heritage in the newly created Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument in Hawaii from the early Polynesian explorers to the present. Marine archaeologists tell the stories behind several historic shipwrecks and put the history in the context of Hawaiian and U.S. history. The documentary was produced the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration's Ocean Media Center for the agency's National Marine Sanctuary Program.
